Actually the social network is a social structure that has been made for individuals who are connected to one or more specific types of interdependency, such as friendship, kinship, relationships, beliefs or knowledge. The services these social networks provide essentially consist in a representation of each user, his/her social links and a variety of additional services.
For example, Facebook is a social networking website whose main point is to invite friends and relatives to join your list of friends. You can also share photos, videos and website links with your friends and take a look on the the photos, videos and links that they have posted.
Besides, you can be in contact with people that live far away from you, and maybe look for a job or business. On the other hand, some of the largest social networks were found on the notion of digitizing real world connections, many networks focus on categories from book and music.
Nowadays, popular methods combine many of these; Facebook and twitter widely used worldwide, and MySpace have become the most widely used in North America.

Besides, it is important to mention that depending on the way we use this network that is the way this will be useful or not. Sometimes, it is used as to be popular, pass the time and add comments with no sense, instead of using it with the purpose to acquire knowledge, make and get positive information from it and perform in a good manner
initially, I thought that facebook was also bad for society, but now everything is different now has a more regular hotmail, to use as email, and rather easier to use and communications technologies
